Qortezan and Yaletown
Set in Vancouver’s Yaletown district, Qortezan is a jewel that reflects the heritage of this unique community. In the late 1800s, Yaletown was Vancouver’s bustling warehouse district near the terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was a mixture of heavy industry and storehouses full of shipments of textiles, exotic spices, necessities and luxury goods that had travelled across Canada after an overseas journey from Europe. After years of neglect, Yaletown turned into the run-down home of seedy hotels and wayfarers before becoming the vibrant neighbourhood it is today. One of Vancouver’s trendiest shopping and entertainment districts, the Yaletown that will welcome the 2010 Winter Olympics is full of high-end boutiques, restaurants, lounges and prestigious urban homes.

Qortezan is located in a beautiful old warehouse - evidence of Yaletown’s transformation. Our walls are warm exposed brick, our floors are polished original hardwood and our ceiling is supported by enormous timber beams from the old-growth forest that grew here long before the railway arrived more than 130 years ago.
